This is a very charming and scarce old book containing 32 glossy color plates by Mary Wilson illuminating Maxwell's descriptions of some of the gardens of Scotland"s large homes including his own. Measuring 7" x 9", 206 pages plus advertising, the book has gilt titles to spine and front cover, gray floral decoration on the orange cloth boards. The boards are bumped and worn at the edges and corners, there is age toning to the pages and some slight foxing, the worst of which is inside the covers and the flyleaves. Overall this is a lovely book.
