Rare 1844 HB Childrens Book A Present from Peter Parley A Present from Peter Parley to All his Little Friends. With 220Engravings -
Very rare, 1844 Edition, Hardbound measuring 3.75" x 5 1/8" and containing 168 numbered pages plus lists of the engraved illustrations which appear throughout the text illustrating things to interest children. Man made items such as plows, forts, diving bells, cupola and pyramid; then a variety of animals as shown in the image; ships including a galley, ketch xebec, brigantine; food including tea, coffee flax; birds; fish and peoples of the world including Nootka Indians, Miexcians, French, Icelanders, Negroes, Otaheitans and more. At the end of the book is a story about little Alice Green, transported from her home in Norwich Ct. to Boson on the back of a faithful Indian, Uncas. Published by H.E. Phinney Cooperstown, N.Y. Complete and itact, the spine has been taped long ago, the covers are rubbed and bumped as you can see in the images. Elanora Hayes, the original owner signed her name several times in the book There is some little foxing and water staining. Please examine the images which are provided to aid your evaluation of the condition of this very old children’s book which is 165 years old!

1951 NYC Horse Children's Book 1st Ed 1951 New York City Horse Children's Book 1st Ed. "The Horse Who Had His Picture in the Paper" written by Phyllis McGinley, Helen Stone, illustrator. 7.7" x 9.9" hardbound, first edition, dust jacket, 48 pages profuse three color illustrations. Apparently the author wrote a series of humorous children's books about "Joey" a New York City horse who pulls a vegetable wagon. Ms. McGinley wrote for the New Yorker Magazine. The dust jacket shows some wear; it has done its job of protecting the boards and binding which are in excellent condition, book is clean, tight and intact.  

1953 Rocket Away! Space Children's Book 1st Ed 1953 Rocket Away! Space Children's Book 1st Ed. First Edition, hardbound book with dust jacket. This 48 page book is 7.37" x 10" in excllent condition. The book has no writing inside or out. Written by Frances Frost, Foward by Robert R. Coles, chairman of The Hayden Planetarium, Pictures by Paul Galdone. Wonderful story about early conceptions of Space Travel. Inside the back flap of the dust jacket is a "Interplanetary Tour Reservation" form to be held in the Hayden Planetarium archieves. You can check the tour you desire, Moon, Mars, Jupiter, or Saturn. The colorful dust jacket has some wear and tear and has protected the book well.

A very minor bend at the bottom of the spine. I believe this is a 1st Edition Treasure Book #887.

Published by Sam'l Gabriel & Sons, 12 pages of wonderful color illustrations of Pussies and Pups. Rhyming copy at the bottom of each page. Excellent condition some very minor wear.

Wonderful vintage Peter Rabbit Book with 6 Magic Tricks, 9" x 12", spiral bound, intact and in excellent condition. Published in 1942 by the Strathmore Company. Put on your own Peter Rabbit Magic Show, Story, props and instructions for the six magic tricks. It is amazing that the props for the tricks are intact in this book. The cover of the book has some minor wear around the edges. This book was created and designed by Mel Richards. Some glare in the photos.

This beautifully illustrated book includes a "78 RPM record made possible by the cooperation of Jerry and Norma Stillman, who spent 6 years recording their outstanding collection of bird calls and songs.". Some of the birds include the Baltimore Oriole, Red-eyed Vireo, Yellow Shafted Flicker, Blue Jay, Wood Thrush, Black-capped Chickadee and more.
