1910 Black Americana Sheet Music Mammy's Song 1910 Racially Themed 8 Page Music Sheet - Music and Lyrics by Women!
This 8 page sheet has several outstanding characteristics. Firstly it is a reminscence of a lullabye sung by the author's Mammy, a children's tale put to music in dialect. Both the music and the lyrics were composed by women (Laura Spencer Portor and Harriet Ware, respectively) which is extraordinary for the era. The cover art is wonderful, the pictures don't do it justice. The condition of the sheet is super! There is the expected age toning and a little soil on the blank back page. It was printed on quality, heavier than usual paper and has been stored with care for over 100 years! It measures 9.25 x 12 ".

1882 Black Americana Trade Card with Topsy 1882 Black Americana Trade Card with Topsy. Tradecard Guessing Weight of the Meriden Girl bay mare horse, sponsored by Smith Stevenson & Co. located in the Byxbee House Block Meriden Conn. Bargins for the holidays from Smith Stevenson & Co are listed on the back. They appear to be wholesalers of general merchandise. The front of the card features Topsy "I’s gwine to guess de weight ob Meriden Girl, Shuah!" This card is 2.75" x 4.37", has a bit of staining. Guaranteed to be old and original.

No Advertising on the back, some residue from being mounted in an album. The vibrant color card features a Black gentleman in fancy dress, tipping his hat. "B.G.S. Vintage authentic advertising trade card for Domestic Sewing machines, as a Black family in a cart point to a billboard with Domestic Advertising. Litho by W.J. Morgan Co. Cleveland. The reverse side has advertising for the 5 Cent Store in Vermont. 4.75" x 3.37" in excellent condition, very minor wear, a bit of paper has worn on the reverse side above the 5 Cent Store, as shown. Stamped "copyright 1882" on the front.
